The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) is a consumer safety organisation, which was set up in 1956 to protect users of electricity against unsafe and unsound electrical installations.

The NICEIC inspectors look at a representative sample of the contractor’s work, their premises, documentation, equipment, and the competence of their key supervisory staff. Once contractors become registered with NICEIC, they are re-assessed on a regular basis to ensure high standards.
